2019 秘魯、巴西探索之旅13天12夜 - PSZ
2019 Peru & Brazil Discovery 13 Days 12 Nights - PSZ

Witness the ancient and scenic wonders of Peru and Brazil on a 13-day Latin American adventure deep into these compelling and vibrant countries. After time to discover Peru's intriguing capital of Lima, explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, crowned by the dazzling lost city of Machu Picchu, before experiencing the buzz and beaches of Rio Janeiro and the thundering Iguassu Falls.

Day 1 | USA - Lima, Peru
Board your international flight to Lima from the USA and arrive in Peru's capital late this evening or early the next morning. After meeting your representative at the airport, transfer to your hotel and enjoy time to rest.

Day 2 | Lima  B,DH
Relax over breakfast before spending the day getting acquainted with the fascinating city of Lima. Join your guide for a sightseeing tour and start at the Main Square, where the ‘City of Kings' was founded in 1535. Admire the pretty lanes and balconied houses and view the Presidential Palace and Lima Cathedral, where the conquistador Francisco Pizarro is buried. Next, visit the 17th-century San Francisco Monastery, which houses a convent, library and catacombs where it's said 75,000 bodies are buried. After exploring these eerie tunnels, leave old Lima for the modern, middle-class districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, where upscale apartments, restaurants, and shops nuzzle the Pacific coast. Soak in the laid-back atmosphere before visiting Miraflores' Love Park, where landscaped gardens overlook Lima Bay.

Day 3 | Lima - Cusco - Sacred Valley of the Incas  B,DH
This morning, make the short flight to Cusco, a Spanish colonial gem and the Inca empire's former capital, nestled beneath the Andes. Meet your guide and transfer to Urubamba in the Sacred Valley of the Incas—the former spiritual and agricultural hub of the Inca civilization. Next, head for Awanakancha, a hillside farm and center showcasing Andean llamas, alpacas and vicunas and the famous Peruvian wool textiles derived from them. View the animals, learn how their wool is gathered and spun, and browse the wide array of colorful Peruvian garments. Then, continue to Pisac Market to scour the stalls selling ponchos, rugs, hats, carvings, and replica Inca pieces. After picking up gifts here, check in at your hotel.

Day 4 | Sacred Valley - Maras-Moray - Ollantaytambo  B,L,DH
Another day of discovery beckons with visits to the towns of Maras and Moray, both home to archaeological sites. Travel to Maras to see its glittering mountainside salt flats, which produced crystalline salt for the Incas. At Moray, admire the lushly grassed Inca-built circular terraces in the ground—believed by scholars to have functioned as agricultural research centers. After lunch, visit the ‘living' Inca town of Ollantaytambo, whose layout replicas that of ancient Inca settlements, and which boasts many archaeological treasures.

Day 5 | Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cusco  B,L
The highpoint of their adventure comes today: a visit to UNESCO-protected Machu Picchu, the Inca lost city on a mountain plateau in the Andean foothills. After a Vistadome train journey to Aguas Calientes, ride a shuttle bus to this magical place, a masterpiece of Inca engineering. Marvel at the ruins and phenomenal scenery, and learn how this citadel was probably the retreat of Inca emperor Pachacutec in the mid-1400s. After your tour and lunch, return to Ollantaytambo by shuttle bus and train before a drive to Cusco.

Day 6 | Cusco  B,L,DS
Enjoy a day in Cusco, Latin America's oldest, continuously inhabited city and known for its churches and ruins. A walking tour takes you to Koricancha Temple, an important place for Inca worship of the Sun God, and magnificent 16th-century Cusco Cathedral. This afternoon, explore Sacsayhuaman Fortress and Qenqo, a largely religious complex where it's believed agricultural rituals were staged. Other highlights include Puka Pukara fortress and Tambomachay, otherwise known as the ‘Inca Baths.' This evening, have dinner at a restaurant overlooking Cusco's Main Square, enjoying folk dance and music performances over a buffet of international and ‘novoandino' dishes—contemporary Peruvian cuisine.

Day 7 | Cusco - Lima  B,D
Fly back to Lima and after a transfer to your hotel, enjoy the rest of the day free. Perhaps revisit some of the sights visited earlier, shop for last-minute souvenirs and mementoes, or sample the city's resurgent and hugely exciting restaurant scene.

Day 8 | Lima - Rio de Janeiro  B,D
Leave Peru today on a flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in the Copacabana neighborhood and get the rest of the day to relax or start discovering this vibrant metropolis, known for its white beaches, samba music and carnival.

Day 9 | Rio de Janeiro  B,D
Wake up to Rio this morning: one of the world's most colourful and exhilarating cities. Spectacularly located between Sugar Loaf Mountain, forested peaks, and golden beaches like Ipanema and Copacabana, this captivating city offers irresistible scenery and an unquenchable zest for life. After breakfast, enjoy a full day of sightseeing including an excursion to Mount Corcovado, the 710-meter peak crowned by the Christ the Redeemer statue. Delve first into the charming Cosme Velho quarter with its faded mansions and hidden gardens before riding the cog train up through the Tijuca forest to the Corcovado viewing platform. Marvel at the bird's-eye views over the city below, and awe at the remarkable Christ statue, standing 98 feet high, with its arms spanning 92 feet. Later, return to your hotel and relax over dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Day 10 | Rio de Janeiro - Samba Dinner Show  B,DS
Another day of sightseeing beckons after breakfast today, with visits to Sugar Loaf Mountain and Rio's beaches. After passing the stunning Botafogo and Vermelha beaches in the elegant Urca neighborhood, take the two-stage cable car journey up to Sugar Loaf, the 393-meter rock pinnacle at Guanabara Bay. Alight at the first stop of Morro da Urca to visit its gardens and viewpoints, and then continue to the summit to experience the breathtaking panoramas over the city, its beaches, and Corcovado. After descending, head to Copacabana beach, one of the planet's most iconic beaches. Admire this 3-mile sandy sweep fringed by palm trees and high-rises, and take in the bustling beach life with locals playing volleyball, sunbathing, strolling, and swimming. Round off today at a glittering samba dinner show, savoring classic Brazilian dishes as you watch an electrifying show of samba, capoeira, forro, and other local dance styles.

Day 11 | Rio de Janeiro - Iguassu  B,DH
Leave for the airport after breakfast and fly to Iguassu, home to the spectacular Iguassu Falls that traddle the Argentine-Brazilian border, for a 2-night stay. On arrival, transfer to your 5-star accommodation before spending the balance of the day as you please and enjoying a hotel dinner tonight.

Day 12 | Iguassu Falls  B,DS
Today is devoted to the awe-inspiring Iguassu Falls, one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Higher and almost twice as wide as Niagara, the falls are composed of 275 individual cascades set in a stunning crescent formation. Start by viewing the falls from the Brazilian side, getting close to the roaring waters and feeling their spray. Then, use a combination of a train and jungle walking trails to travel to the Argentinean side. Here, visit the observation points to marvel at the astounding power of the falls from different points, including the epic Garganta do Diabo (Devil's Throat). Tonight, visit a local restaurant for a mouth-watering Brazilian barbecue dinner of meat cuts, ribs, and sides complemented by a dazzling folklore show featuring Brazilian, Argentinean, and other Latin American dances and rhythms, including the samba and tango.

Day 13 | Iguassu - USA  B
Depart Brazil with a transfer to Iguassu airport for your homeward flight.
